Looking for a new way to experience the outdoors? Enter the world of Via Ferrata – a unique and invigorating way to experience rock climbing like never before.

What is a Via Ferrata?

Via Ferrata, literally translating to "Iron Path", is a synthesis of hiking and climbing. This method of rock climbing welcomes experts and newcomers alike to conquer the mountain's edge safely and confidently. Unlike traditional rock climbing which relies on finding natural grips and footholds, the Via Ferrata uses iron rungs firmly bolted into the rock face, coupled with steel cables providing extra security.

Go with KMAC Guides

The Routes

Peregrine Arete

The original route, The Peregrine Arete, begins in a rocky gully on the side of the cliff, it traverses in and quickly gains elevation as the ground drops away, this is the most physically demanding portion. Then comes the thrilling "Hinterstoisser Traverse," an exposed adrenaline-pumping stretch! This leads to the most jaw-dropping snack break spot. Once refreshed, the experience continues along the ridge, offering a gentler but equally mesmerizing path to the summit.

The Cloud Ladder

This route is slightly more advanced than the Peregrine Arete, which means it even more rewarding! Your guide will lead you up expanses of rock before rounding onto the overhanging edge of the entire formation. You’ll get even more of a thrill when you reach the bridge crossing and glance down at hundreds of feet of air.
