First Friday Art Groove

August 2

Take a free tour of local art galleries! Various locations will serve food and refreshments and host artist meet-and-greets, demonstrations, show openings, and live music. Ride the free Estes Park Trolley to keep you warm between galleries.

 

Music in the Hills 

August 2 

Music in the Hills is an outdoor, family-friendly, live music event. Held outdoors at Performance Park in Estes Park, bring your lawn chair or picnic blanket and enjoy an evening of live Gospel music. The event is free, and donations will be accepted for the artists. Hot dogs will be available for sale at the park. Music begins at 6 PM, and the headliner group, Blake & Jenna Bolerjack of Oklahoma City, will perform at 7 PM.

 

Estes Park Half Marathon and 5K

August 2-3

Take on this challenging but scenic course just outside of Rocky Mountain National Park! With the Rocky Mountain Half Marathon, 5K, and Elk Double (Half Marathon + 5K) you can choose your own adventure!
 

Westernaires Wild West Show 

August 2-3 

Come see the Westernaires perform precision drills at speed, along with thrilling horse acrobatics, daring trick riding, trick and fancy roping, Cavalry riders, liberty riding, a dressage exhibition, and much more. Senior Pro Charity Rodeo

August 9-11

Experience the thrill of rodeo action while supporting local charities at the Colorado Senior Pro Charity Rodeo in Estes Park. Watch exciting events like Calf Roping, Bull Riding, and more, knowing that proceeds benefit Meals on Wheels, Crossroads Ministry, Susan G. Komen Foundation, and Denver's Craig Hospital, making a positive impact on the community.
 

Estes Park Wine Festival

August 10-11

Enjoy wine, food and fun in downtown Estes Park at the annual Estes Park Wine Festival. This is a 21+ event. Tickets include a wine glass, wine tote and unlimited tastings, along with live music, retailers and food vendors.
 

Estes Park Art Studio Tour

August 17-18

The 8th Annual Art Studio Tour invites everyone to explore the studios of professional artists living right in Estes Park. This free, family-friendly event will allow you to visit over 20 local fine art studios. View pieces and learn about the process behind woodturning, mosaics, painting and ceramics, lifesize sculptures, sacred gardens and more.

 

Universal Consciousness Festival at the Dao House

August 21-25

The Universal Consciousness Festival first began in 2014 to bring the local community together after a devastating flood in Colorado during the September eleventh period of the previous year. Peaked Estes Park Cruise Weekend

August 25

Join car enthusiasts from across the country for this can't-miss event at the Estes Park Events Complex. General admission gates open on Sunday at 11 a.m. Tickets include access to an impressive roster of exotic, tuner, classic cars and more.

 

LABOR DAY ARTS & CRAFTS FESTIVAL

August 31- September 2

Organized by the Estes Valley Sunrise Rotary Club, this free festival fills Bond Park with over 100 booths featuring a variety of hand-crafted goods available for sale, including paintings and drawings, jewelry, metalwork, clothing, pottery, glass, and more.

“FLIGHTS OF FANCY” EXHIBIT

Through August 26 

This stunning exhibit runs July 19 – August 26 at the Art Center of Estes Park. After 36 years in the aerospace industry, Jim Sneary decided to try his hand at bird carving. Very quickly, it became apparent that classes, practice, and lots of patience were all required. Now he is having fun with his bird carvings and gourd art.  Jim is always looking for new and fun things to try and has added woodburning on wood and paper as well as carving and woodburning on gourds to his list.  He finds the work very relaxing, and it is a special bonus when others enjoy the results.

 

Poetry Appreciation and Sharing Night at Seed & Sage Studio

Historic Fall River Hydroplant Tours

Weekly, Wednesday through Saturday

The Historic Fall River Hydroplant plant was constructed in 1909 to produce electricity for the Stanley Hotel and surrounding areas. Later, F.O. Stanley sold the plant to the Public Service Company of Colorado. In 1945, the Town of Estes Park purchased and maintained the Hydroplant until it was severely damaged in 1982 by the Lawn Lake Flood.
 

MacGregor Museum Tours

Weekly through September 30

Explore the home of the three generations of MacGregors who settled, homesteaded, and developed the land to become the Ranch that provided for their family and the town. Built in the 1800s, the MacGregors facilitated many avenues of growth for the town of Estes Park and its other influential members. Contact them in advance for groups larger than eight.
