Clanging bells and tooting whistles will fill the Estes Park Events Complex as trains from the steam age to the present time roar along tracks of model railroad layouts at the annual "Rails in the Rockies" exhibit.
Dedicated model railroaders from Colorado and Wyoming will be sharing their craftsmanship layouts at the 24th Annual Rails in the Rockies exhibit in the Estes Park Event Complex (1125 Rooftop Way).
Organized by the Estes Valley Model Railroaders, the show incorporates working exhibits of all gauges from the tiny “z” to the toy train “G” gauge along with British and German railroads.
There are lots of family activities: the Estes Club “Kids Layout” where children can run trains, push buttons and enjoy Thomas the Train, the fun Seek and Search game to challenge all, the popular LEGO Layout for “kids of all ages” and the Youth in Model Railroading layouts sharing the love of the hobby and their developing skills.
Clinics and demonstrations on the “how to” of model railroading and trains will be available.
Exhibit hours for the show are from: 9 – 5 on Saturday, September 25 and 9 – 4 on Sunday, September 26.
Admission is $10 a person with children 12 and under free with an adult. A family rate is $20.
