Standing at an elevation of 11,796 feet above sea level, the Alpine Visitor Center is the highest in the National Park System. Accessed via Trail Ridge Road, the center sits at the top of Old Fall River Road, offering a breathtaking view of the valleys below and access to the alpine tundra, along with food, drink, and souvenirs. The Alpine Visitor Center is only accessible for part of the year based on weather and the seasonal opening and closing of Trail Ridge Road.
Located on Rocky Mountain National Park's western side, the Kawuneeche Valley offers stunning views of the Never Summer Mountains, wildlife, and forests. It is accessible all year round where you can go on a scenic drive, or hike to the Colorado River Trailhead that takes you to popular spots like Lulu City and LaPoudre Pass. Peek through the willow thickets for a chance sighting of the Big Five.
The Continental Divide offers one of the best scenic vistas from an Estes Park live webcam. Nearby this viewpoint lies the Glacier Basin Campground which provides easy access to the park’s east side. This campground is open from May to September and is conveniently on the Hiker Shuttle route (reservations required) with additional shuttles to Bear Lake and Moraine Park where deer and elk can be spotted.

At 14,259 feet, Longs Peak towers above all other summits in Rocky Mountain National Park with its distinct block-like shape that can be seen from as far as Denver on a clear day. One of two major entrances to the east side of the Rocky Mountain National Park, this Estes Park live webcam at Fall River/ US Highway 34 lets you see what’s happening traffic-wise. This route, which becomes the scenic Trail Ridge Road, often provides quick access to the park during the busy summer and fall seasons over the Beaver Meadows Entrance. If time permits, you can learn more about the local Alpine Ecosystems on a two-day outdoor course led by retired RMNP ranger, Kathy Brazelton.
