Musician

How long have you lived in Estes Park?

Whole life (almost 16 years)

Where is your hometown?

Estes Park

How long have you been playing?

Mandolin: 6 years, Guitar: 2 1/2 years

Why did you (or what inspired you to) start playing?

I’ve grown up with music all around me. My dad and his friends all play bluegrass music (they are the band Rientarnation). I then started learning guitar and with that I was able to branch out to all sorts of music.

Who are some of your influences?

Passenger, The Beatles (Paul specifically), Ed Sheeran, Chris Thile (mandolin), Mumford and Sons

What has the process been like making a name for yourself in Estes Park?

It has been a whirl wind. In December of 2014 I played my first solo gig ever and now I’m playing pretty consistently at least one gig a week. A big part of my publicity has come from my association with the Estes Arts District, and all of the connections I made through that.

What do you hope to do with career in the future?

I would like to make music my full time career and would love to tour professionally as soon as possible.

What’s your favorite spot/place in Estes Park? Why?

Inkwell and Brew, it has an amazing atmosphere and the coffee and the people are amazing. I spend more time there than I’m proud of but it's worth it.

What is the best part about performing in Estes Park?

The best part for me is that I get to share my music and the music of my inspirations with this town and I make money doing what I love and there’s nothing better than that.

What do you do around Estes in your free time/when you’re not performing?

Well I have high school 5 days a week 8 hours a day. I spend a lot of time sitting in coffee shops and hanging out with friends.
