Estes Park's July 4 Fireworks Postponed Due to Wildfire Conditions

The Town of Estes Park has postponed its annual Independence Day fireworks show over Lake Estes due to increasing wildfire risk. A new date will be announced when conditions are safe.

The decision was made in partnership with the Estes Valley Fire Protection District after fire danger increased significantly over the weekend, unfavorable weather was forecasted, and firefighting resources across Colorado were stretched by active wildfires.

Fire safety remains the community's highest priority. Everyone is encouraged to follow all current fire restrictions and help protect Estes Park, its residents, visitors, and surrounding public lands.

Stage 2 Fire Restrictions

Current restrictions include:

  • Personal and private fireworks are always illegal in Estes Park and the surrounding area.
  • Charcoal and wood grills, campfires, and other open flames are prohibited.
  • Smoking is only permitted inside an enclosed building or vehicle.
  • Do not park or idle vehicles over dry grass or vegetation, as hot exhaust systems can ignite fires.
  • If you see smoke, a spark, or an unattended fire, call 911 immediately.

Thank you for helping keep Estes Park safe. We appreciate everyone's cooperation and look forward to celebrating together when conditions allow.
