Estes Park Tourism Master Plan

Visit Estes Park is developing a Tourism Master Plan to guide the future of tourism in the Estes Valley over the next decade.

Take the resident sentiment survey to give your input

We want to hear how tourism affects you and what should be prioritized to ensure tourism grows in a way that is sustainable, inclusive, and beneficial for the community. An important part of this effort is understanding the perspectives of community members who are an integral part of our tourism ecosystem.

Please take the survey to make sure your voice is heard! The survey takes about 10 minutes and is fully anonymous.

Why take the survey?

We want to hear from YOU! Your insight will help us understand why tourism is important to you, your business, and the local tourism economy. Your voice will help ensure this plan reflects the full spectrum of community perspectives. Even if you’ve completed the stakeholder survey, we still need your input here. This survey is a separate opportunity to share your thoughts, focused on personal experiences and priorities as a resident of Estes Valley, to help shape the future of tourism in our region.

Who can participate in the Survey?

The survey is open to all residents of Estes Valley. Responses are anonymous and analyzed in aggregate.

How long will it take?

The survey should take approximately 10 minutes.

Complete the survey and enter a drawing for a $250 gift certificate to any Estes Valley business of the winner's choice! The survey closes on June 13.

Tourism Master Plan Outline

Phase 1: Community Visioning

  • Tourism Relevancy Workbook & Survey – done
    • This survey was sent to local tourism businesses and partner organizations to gain a 360-degree view of what the community values and how the visitor economy works to support and enhance shared community goals. It captured stakeholder perspectives on the characteristics of Estes Park and the Estes Valley as a destination and how each group views tourism and its role in supporting the area’s sense of place.
  • Community Visioning Session – done
    • The visioning session was an in-person workshop that worked to build a shared community vision for the future of Estes Park as a destination with Visit Estes Park’s stakeholders. The information gathered in the visioning session will inform the Tourism Master Plan.
  • Resident Sentiment Survey – in progress
    • This survey is meant to answer the question, “How does tourism fit in my community?” to inform the Tourism Master Plan. Also, the answers gleaned from it will be benchmarked and compared to responses with the Western US region and the US norm.

Phase 2: Build the Tourism Master Plan – in progress

  • Our partner, Clarity of Place, will take inputs from Phase 1 to craft the Tourism Master Plan. The resulting deliverable will be a user-friendly report that will be shared with the Estes Park community. Visit Estes Park will use it to inform future strategic plans and operating plans, as well as share it with partner organizations for the same use. Once complete, the plan will be posted here.
