You can't hike the entire time you're in town, although no one here will blame you for trying. Instead, fill out your trip with local events that will give you a taste of the sights, sounds and flavors of this vibrant little mountain town. Fall is in full swing here in Estes Park, the perfect time to grab a local craft beverage, visit one of the many art galleries and boutiques in town, or if you’re feeling brave, attempt your finest elk bugle at Elk Fest. Celebrate our resident elk: Elk Fest

October 2 & 3 

The elk are back in town. Celebrate Estes Park's resident elk at this family-friendly festival in Bond Park. Shop vendors, listen to live music, and don’t forget to attempt your best elk bugle during the event! More info here.

Outdoor fall festival: Pumpkins & Pilsners

October 9

Free, super fun fall festival with activities and entertainment for all ages. The perfect place to pick your pumpkins with live music and craft beer for the adults, as well as games, face painting and a bounce house for the little ones. Bring the whole family and plan a fall outing around this fun event!  This incredible event is the largest annual fundraiser for the local non-profit organization, Estes Park Education Foundation (EPEF). All profits from the festival go directly back into the Estes Valley community to support students, teachers and education in Estes Park. More info here.

 

Fall Sidewalk Sale

October 9 & 10

Fill out your Estes Park weekend with a walk around town in search of that item you just can't resist. It'll make for a fantastic souvenir! It's a great way to enjoy the crisp air and fall colors in and around town. More info here.

 

One of a Kind Finds: Junkin’ Market

October 16 & 17

This is a new one you won't want to miss. Junkin’ Market Days offers revelers the chance to score that one-of-a-kind find from vendor's repurposed, rustic, shabby, chic, farmhouse, vintage and unique items. Show us your amazing finds on social: #VisitEstesPark. More info here.

 

Arts & Crafts Sale: Treasure Tables

October 23

You never know what you'll find among the arts and crafts vendors at this annual fundraiser. Offerings range from pottery to quilts to hand made soaps, jewelry and more. A bake sale completes the festive atmosphere. And it's for a good cause: proceeds go to P.E.O. International for educational opportunities for women of all ages through scholarships, grants, and low interest loans. More info here.

 

Halloween at The Stanley Hotel

The Stanley Hotel delivers on Halloween. The Shining Ball is back and more robust than ever with performances from The Widow’s Bane and Arthur Lee Land & Friends. Go big on your costume: one lucky winner of the annual costume contest will win a weekend concert package to The Crystal Ball on New Years Eve at the hotel. Devotchka is back for the Black Tie Ball and, believe it or not, is only one of the reasons you should go to this event. Pop-up performances and a late-night after party are just two of the exciting things happening at the ball. And finally: 311. Make plans to see everyone's favorite alternative rock band live in Estes Park. Check out the weekend packages offered by the hotel to get the full experience. More information and tickets, here.

UPDATE: Devotchka Halloween Black Tie Ball and 311 are SOLD OUT! The Shining Ball is only available through lodging packages offered by the hotel. Keep an eye out for when single ticket purchases are available in early October. This event is expected to sell out.
