The Iconic Estes Park Aerial Tramway Reopens
The beloved Estes Park Aerial Tramway has reopened just in time for summer 2024. The Tramway opened to the public in July 1955, built and designed by cable car pioneer Robert Heron. Over the decades, it safely carried more than 3 million people to the summit of Prospect Mountain. However, The Tramway was shut down in 2023 after the passing of John Heron, Robert’s son. Now under new ownership, it returned to operation on May 25, 2024, offering expanded parking, new ADA ramps and the refurbished Hungry Chipmunk Cafe and Tram Haus (featuring free pinball machines).
Trailborn Rocky Mountain Outpost Opens Its Doors
Hot on the heels of last year’s Trailborn Rocky Mountains opening, the new Trailborn boutique hotel brand has opened a second Estes Park location — Trailborn Rocky Mountains Outpost. Offering fully renovated gathering spaces and guest rooms, the new hotel features a thoughtful design that harmonizes with Estes Park’s natural surroundings, complimentary breakfast, a range of curated experiences and an outdoor pool/lounge.

The company’s expertly curated tours include day hiking tours, new basic survival skills tours and snowshoeing tours.
