Estes Park Unveils Thrilling New Events, Skijoring, and More this Winter Season
Guests can marvel at Colorado's inaugural Pixel Pine Tree and witness the historic first-ever skijoring event in Estes Park.
Estes Park, CO – October 15, 2024– This winter, Estes Park is rolling out an exciting array of new events, town upgrades, and inspiring local stories that promise to make the 2024/2025 season truly unforgettable.
Kicking off the holiday festivities, Bond Park will be home to a brand-new, spectacular 36-foot-tall mappable Pixel Pine Tree starting November 23 at the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony. Just like the iconic tree at Disneyland, this enchanting installation will come alive each night with a captivating music show, complemented by giant holiday photo opportunities and a dazzling display of illuminated trees throughout the town.
Join us for the inaugural Catch the Glow Snowman Festival on December 7, featuring live performances, ice sculpting, and even reindeer! Families can enjoy the Catch the Glow Sweets Stroll Festival on December 21, where sweet treats and lively street performances will delight attendees of all ages. The holiday spirit extends beyond these events as local partners join our Beyond Holidays program, offering holiday specials that transform Estes Park into a winter wonderland. The Catch the Glow holiday season is an extension of the beloved Catch the Glow Parade, a cherished tradition in our community.
For those seeking adventure, mark your calendars for the first-ever Estes Park Skijor, taking place from January 24-26, 2025. This thrilling winter sport combines two Colorado classics– horseback riding and skiing, as horses and riders pull skiers through a dynamic course filled with gates, jumps, and obstacles. Attendees can also enjoy local craft beer, food trucks, live announcers, western vendors, and a cozy indoor kids’ area, plus activities all around town all weekend long.
In addition to these exciting events, Estes Park is proud to unveil the new “Estes Inspired” video series, featuring remarkable stories from a two-time Olympian, a former NASA astronaut, and a supervisory park ranger from Rocky Mountain National Park. This inspiring series highlights some of the most inspiring residents' connections to Estes Park and promotes a message of reverence for nature and responsible tourism.
Finally, residents can now enjoy the brand-new Downtown Estes Loop! After many months in the making, the completion of this construction project is something to celebrate. The new route is designed to streamline travel to Rocky Mountain National Park, ease congestion, and enhance safety for both pedestrians and drivers. Explore the newly redesigned Elkhorn Avenue and witness firsthand the transformation of this beloved town.
