In the summer months, the tundra of Rocky Mountain National Park is not just a crown jewel for wildflowers, but also for wildlife. High-country dwellers like pikas and marmots offer hours of viewing entertainment. Pleasant surprises can reveal elk, ravens, coyotes, long-tailed weasels, and many more amazing animals behind any rock or beyond any turn in the trail. All of these furry or feathery friends have great stories to tell about their behaviors, evolution and survival strategies.
