“We’re a Mexican American band, and no word describes America like immigrant. Most of us
are children of immigrants, so it’s perhaps natural that the songs we create celebrate America in
this way.” So says Louie Perez, the “poet laureate” and primary wordsmith of Los Lobos, when
describing the songs on the band’s new album.
As part of their 40th Anniversary celebration tour, Los Lobos brings their unique sound and energy to the Historic Stanley Hotel’s Concert Hall. “La Bamba” dominated US Charts in the late 80’s along with other hits “Come On, Let’s Go,” “Donna,” and “Set Me Free (Rose Lee).” And you can bet they’ll be rockin’ these songs along with selections from their 22 albums including their latest, Gates of Gold!
