Join the YMCA of the Rockies Outdoor Education Staff to become a Master Naturalist! Over the course of two days you will learn how to ID common plants and animals in a forest and riparian ecosystem, learn about the formation of the Rocky Mountains, and learn the science behind wildfires. At the end of the course you will be awarded a Master Naturalist certificate and celebrate with a campfire! This workshop is for ages 18+ and includes all activities and programs included.

DAY 1: 

9-10am: Naturalist skill Building 
10am-12pm: Montane Forest Ecology 
12-1pm: Lunch 
1-4pm:  Aquatic Ecology 
5-6 pm: Dinner 
8:00-9:30pm: Astronomy 

DAY 2 

9am–12pm: Mountain Formations 
12-1pm: Lunch 
1-4pm: Fire Ecology + Climate Change 
4-5pm: Campfire and Awards 

We are offering this course multiple times throughout the fall, choose what dates work best for your schedule! A convenient option of several mid-week sessions to choose from, September 7 - 8 or September 13-14, September 20-21, October 11-12 or October 18-19. Lodging at YMCA of the Rockies is not required to attend the event, but offered as a convenient package for a mid-week autumn getaway more details available on the website.
