If ever there was a family friendly festive event, this is it! At 11 a.m watch thousands of bathtub-sized rubber duckies drop from a cage above Fall River in the Performance Park vicinity. The ducks race downstream along the Riverwalk to the Estes Park Visitor Center and their “parents” cheer them on because they’re competing for merchant prizes while 73 community nonprofit organizations share in the proceeds from the day. Spectators adopt the ducks at $25 each up ‘til the second duck drop at 1 p.m. At 2:30 p.m. the championship flight takes off for a chance at big cash prizes: $10,000, $6,000 or $4,000. At the finish line enjoy musical entertainment, balloon artistry, face painting and a jeep show.
