Looking for beautiful and educational hikes in or near Rocky Mountain National Park? We have the guided hikes you are looking for! During the summer season, our expert-trained Hikemasters lead hikes of varying difficulty to many different locations in the area (from strolling on the “Y” grounds, to hiking to alpine lakes, to climbing peaks). Each week offers traditional popular hikes along with family-friendly guided hikes to longer, more strenuous excursions. Our Hikemasters offer insight and knowledge of the flora and fauna of Rocky Mountain National Park, making your most of your hiking experience! Rack up the miles each year in our YMCA Hiking Program to earn merit badges to commemorate and congratulate your achievement as you reach "miles hiked" milestones! Guided hikes are available free of charge to guests staying in a cabin or lodge room at YMCA of the Rockies and to visitors who have purchased an activity Day Pass to the YMCA. All guided hikes leave from the Sweet Memorial Building. Each hike is limited to a maximum of 14 people (sometimes limited to 10) so sign up early, read or ask about requisites, bring listed hike necessities, and prepare to have fun! If you have more than five in your party, we ask you to talk with a Hikemaster before signing up to determine the best hike to fit your group. We want all children, parents, and other guests to enjoy all we have to offer. It is recommended that children under the age of 12 only sign-up for hikes under 4 miles. The Hikemaster will have discretion for hikes over 4 miles. A parent must accompany children under the age of 15 on all program hikes. Stay at YMCA of the Rockies to receive many free activities! Enjoy mini-golf, guided hikes, a swimming pool and more! Surrounded on three sides by Rocky Mountain National Park, which was recently recognized as the #1 Outdoor & Adventure Destination in the United States, Estes Park Center is a unique mountain community offering more recreational and programming activities than any other area property. In addition to wildlife viewing, activities include individual and guided hiking tours into the park, horseback riding, swimming, fishing, hayrides, a zip line, two performing arts centers, a variety of educational programs and of the finest craft shops in America.
